Google Cloud- Shorts -Part 1

Compute Engine

  • A project can have up to 5 VPC
  • A Compute Engine can belong to only 1 VPC
  • Cloud Pub-Sub is global- by default
  • Global Load Balancing

Regional resources

  • Images, snapshots, firewall etc

Zonal resources

  • Instances, disks etc

Pub-sub

-is horizontally scalable

-is divided into two parts-

  • Data Plane- servers are called 'Foreworkers'
  • Control Plane- servers are called 'Routers'

App Engine

shared resources are Datastore, Memcache, Task Queue

Types of the environment - Standard and Flexible - migratable from one to other

App Engine- Flexible allows-

  • Background thread and process, SSH debugging.
  • Autoscaling
  • Load balancing
  • Min 1 instance 'up' all the time

Cloud Functions

  • Events-
  • HTTP,
  • Cloud storage,
  • PubSub
  • Firestore
  • Firebase
  • Stackdriver

Types of functions

  • HTTP function- has request and response
