A significant number of people today, are entering a labor force where unwillingly they are performing redundant, routine tasks. These brain-numbing jobs have no growth opportunity, no inherent learning challenges and no job security, besides they sometimes pose extreme health hazards. It is a known fact that major employee dissatisfaction and hence attrition happens from such jobs.

It is often considered that automation and artificial intelligence is a threat to people’s jobs. However, I believe that artificial intelligence would be a tool in the human arsenal that would liberate humans from the mundane, unsatisfactory jobs. Thus, by efficiently taking over the redundant tasks, machines will augment the human capabilities. This rich human-robot collaboration will enable humans to extend their limits and focus on newly created jobs that are based on core human skills.

The ad campaign portrays the above philosophy by depicting the world of 2030. The human world will push out of just Earth as humans will begin to colonize other planets. Thus, the print ad shows two scenes, one of a manufacturing setup on Earth and another of an exploration mission on Mars. The production line is planned and governed by humans and run by intelligent robots. This ensures higher efficiency which is able to support the exploration mission on Mars. Liberated from the mundane tasks, humans are now free to explore the new world which is represented by the astronauts on Mars.

Adecco, from a line manager on Earth to an explorer on Mars, is ‘Making the Future Work for Everyone’. In this age of a deep human-machine interaction, Adecco is acting at the heart of core human values and delivering us more satisfying and productive jobs. Thus, Adecco is catering to the best interests of people and that of humanity.
