The Future of Web Design
The Chameleon effect
There is an obvious shift on the paradigm of web development and web design. With the continued advance of technology and the advent of mobile technology, web design has successfully changed shift from the standard design towards a more responsive design to accommodate the mobile technology. Most definitely, this shift in web design is most likely just the start of the many changes that is about to happen in the industry of web design and development.
Thinking about the future of websites, exactly what do you see in your mind as to what the future websites look like? What could possibly be the major nudge from the leaders of web design and development that will finally shift this industry to a most momentous change? Would the outdated print design of the digital platform finally be swapped by something with elements that will provide you with more than satisfying web experiences?
If you would look over the Web, you will see a great number of individuals who given thought about the very same topic. They have given predictions and some with some proof as they say, but really when you think about all these, their musings are not entirely impossible. With the current advances when it comes to technology starting from browser capability to CSS, HTML, JavaScript and all other vast improvements that erased former limitations of web design.
This is when smart sites finally revealed themselves – great digital web designs that have significantly improved in the way of human interaction, not only when it comes to websites, but in televisions, mobile apps and anything that goes on screen surface. But what could be the future of these smart sites?
Personally, I believe that the future websites would be even smarter than today’s smart sites with artificial intelligence possibly incorporated in its design and development. With smart algorithms, the future websites are most likely powered up in such a way that AI is able to discern the site’s visitor’s based on certain factors or characteristics that the site took notice and recorded as well. Visitors will be discerned simply by factors such as their favourite colours, their own style preferences or their real time heart rhythms (detected by their fitness trackers) which help in drawing the right images, fonts and design and promotions that will match the visitor’s interests. Websites will change to the sentiment and wants of its visitors. I call this “the chameleon effect”
This kind of innovations opens a great advantage to many online businesses and all those utilizing websites for their products and services. If websites are controlled by artificial intelligence and has the ability to operate on the whims and expectations of the visitor, it will be a most innovative personal navigation experience that any site visitor could ever have. With this, getting to the pages they have to and finding the information they need would be even easier than it has already been.
These just might be musings right now but it is not very unlikely at all with the direction that technology is going to. It is very likely that these things will comes true in the nearest future and the word hosting, domain registration, even WordPress will be words that belong in the past.
