The Future Sight Method
Happy Future Friday,
Most people wait for the future to become “clear.”
Futurists don’t.
We train a skill I call Future Sight — the ability to look at today’s messy signals and see tomorrow’s patterns forming.
So today, I’m sharing a light, practical framework you can run weekly:
The Future Sight Method A simple routine to turn noise → signal → direction.
Let’s make it fun.
The Future Sight Method (4 moves)
1) The “3 Weird Things” Scan 👀 (3 minutes)
Every week, collect three weird things you notice:
Write each as one line: “It’s weird that ______.”
Weird is where the future hides.
2) Pattern Snap 🧩 (4 minutes)
Now connect them. Ask: “What do these have in common?”
Write one sentence: “This might be the beginning of ______.”
Examples:
Patterns don’t arrive fully formed. They assemble.

3) Horizon Tag 🏷️ (2 minutes)
Label the pattern with a time horizon:
Most organizations lose to the future because they don’t label timing— they treat everything as either “urgent” or “someday.”
4) The “One Move” Forecast ♟️ (3 minutes)
Make one forecast + one move:
Forecast: “If this pattern continues, ______ will happen.” Move: “So this week, we will ______.”
Moves can be small:
Future sight is useless without action.
Bonus: The Future Sight Questions (use these in meetings)
When a conversation gets stuck, ask:
That’s how you create leaders who don’t just react. They anticipate.

I break down The Future Sight Method (and the broader operating system behind it) in my book:
