From Knowledge to Know How
Recently I spoke about data as the core resource of the 21st century and about the importance of access to this data for stakeholders across multiple company sites and functions.
When looking into management tasks that go along with all processes along the value stream it becomes clear that we are not talking about data in terms of pure figures only but rather about the analytic results obtained from big data. Or, to keep it simple, about “know how” and the management and visibility of this know how for all stakeholders involved in a project.
Just recently, along the Innovationsdialog at the French embassy in Berlin, my colleague Laurent Blanchard, EVP, Global Field Operations (EMEAR), Worldwide Alliances and Services spoke about the importance of getting from pure knowledge to real know how and about making this know how visible in order to allow agile decision making within organizations. It was an inspiring speech and I am very curious for further reports from our clients and partners about how they are taking this challenge on within their businesses.
That leads me to sharing the example of the electric mobility startup Kreisel Electric with you. Kreisel Electric is an innovative company that recently chose the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to accelerate its business growth. As the automotive industry is undergoing a dramatic shift due to commitments from governments and established manufacturers to privilege electric and hybrid vehicles, it is vital for companies like Kreisel Electric to easily access and share information in real time. However, how does the majority of business within our region master this challenge? What kind of solution have they chosen to share information and why?
Taking a look at the analysts view
The analysts from IDC are currently conducting a new research regarding cloud solutions among business leaders in Germany and will reveal their results at the 3DEXPERIENCE Forum on November 15-16, 2017 in Leipzig. I am already very curious for the insights and I would of course be looking forward to welcoming you in Leipzig and get your view on the topic! For those who cannot join but are interested in the results of the research, the IDC white paper will be available on our website shortly after the event as well.
On attends avec impatience le fameux livre blanc ;) (Après l’événement des 15 et 16 Nov a Leipzig)
Thank for sharing Andreas; know how, or the practical knowledge gained through experience, is often tacit knowledge. As opposed to facts, explicit knowledge, which is easier to share. Only through seeing and then doing can know how be developed.
