First Team Game Project

First Team Game Project

So I just got done working on a 3 month game project with 2 other teammates Shawn Richmond & Steven Quast for school and I will say it was quite an interesting experience. Working with a team can really make getting things done much easier while at the same time conflicts with creative control tends to hinder progress. One of the biggest things I got out of the project other than learning more about developing games, is communication is key.

The game "Soul Hunter" we made is a 3/4 view dungeon crawler where the player is a power driven mage that can combine the elements to make spells. The player delves into a dungeon to defeat the demonic overlord Ragnarok so he can consume his soul. Soul Hunter was developed in Unity 5 free version and made for educational purposes only. The game was made in 3D except for the character sprites and the camera was set to orthographic to give the whole world a more 2D look. All code was done in Mono-Development or Visual Studio using C#.

What I worked on:

  • Designed the spells using Unity's particle system and coded the logic.
  • Save and load functionality.
  • Game's core control logic.
  • Living object system.
  • Built and UVed level 1 in Maya free version ( I am not an artist ).
  • Setup all levels.
  • Trap logic.
  • Player movement logic.
  • Camera logic.

Link to game currently does not exsist - working on making it avaible again (30 Jan 2017), this was our final build for the class and will still have some bugs in it. Sprite assets and sounds are not of our own creation and we take no credit in it. We are not artists or audio engineers and used assets we could find for school use only. Do not redistribute, sell or claim this as your own. Any questions or concerns about this product feel free to contact me at AustinLWare@gmail.com

Can you upload a walk through? Seems very colorful 😎
