What is FFmpeg?

FFmpeg is free open-source software that consists of a large number of programs and libraries to handle video, audio, and other multimedia files. It is designed for command-line-based processing of audio and video files.FFmpeg can handle the entire process of transcoding, video and image manipulation (resizing, denoising, etc.), packaging, streaming, and playback.

Uses Of FFmpeg:

  • FFmpeg is used to convert a file from the PNG format to the WEB FORMAT.
  • FFmpeg is a command-line tool that converts audio or video formats.
  • It can capture and encode in real-time from various hardware and software sources such as a TV capture card.
  • FFmpeg can be used for various video processing tasks such as denoising, blurring, color conversion, rotation, extraction of frames, letter-boxing, etc.
  • video compression feature of FFmpeg is fantastic and it is an open secret that most streaming companies use or have used FFmpeg for their product
