Fabaris at NATO M&S Basic Course

Last week, Fabaris took another step to keep the M&S BU up to date, by successfully participating in the three-day NATO M&S Basic Course for 2016, hosted at NATO M&S Centre of Excellence in Cecchignola, in Rome.

The event itself was introductory to the field, and a substantial part of the content wasn’t new for us, due to our previous experience. It still managed to be an enriching experience, diving a bit deeper than usual on some interoperability standards (HLA, DIS, etc.), focusing on their evolution and significance in the current M&S context.

Just being there – of course – has an importance of its own: you are confronted with other people’s needs and views on various topics, you are exposed to questions, doubts and problems that you may overlook for getting too much used to in your daily routine.

Moreover, a good part of the people involved in the course were at their first real impact with M&S, making this course an invaluable occasion to establish connection and communication with whoever you will work with in the years to come.

There is also a good bit of satisfaction in watching the projects and products that Fabaris worked on - like the Urbanisation Project in this case - becoming lecture material for NATO sanctioned courses. It’s not the first time it happens.

We will make sure it isn’t the last, either.
