The Evolution of AI

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has evolved from its inception in 1955, permeating through the technological and cultural domains in the 1970s and 80s.  From personal voice assistants to chatbots the latest advancements in AI have penetrated into many everyday tasks and yet we've just scratched the surface of the possibilities.

While the hype in the past did set unrealistic expectations, the recent technological advancements in AI are enabling its viability as a business solution. Coupled with improvements database technology, AI is advancing towards enterprise and consumer acceptance.

The newfound success of AI is also attributed to platforms like Google and Amazon which have brought AI to the mainstream. Commitments from large players have helped secure a place for AI to improve many critical areas like data security, fraud detection, ease-of-use, etc.

But AI in its purest form is still years away. Machines and technology can’t find a novel solution to a problem without human intervention.
