In today's fast-changing world, it's clear that things are evolving rapidly. New technologies are popping up everywhere, affecting almost every aspect of our lives. Being able to quickly adjust to these changes is super important. Taking part in the Bangkit 2023 program has been a real privilege for me. It's thrown me into all sorts of situations where I've had to adapt on the fly. Here are five ways I've learned to be more adaptable:
- Ways of Interacting, Communication plays a vital role in fostering connections with individuals from diverse backgrounds. As a Bangkit Program participant, I'm learning to adjust my interactions with various individuals such as mentors, peers, and instructors. I prioritize effective communication by engaging in relevant discussions, actively listening, and articulating ideas clearly. Despite the language challenges, I'm committed to improving my communication skills through Bangkit's learning initiatives.
- Ways of Achieving, Each student in Bangkit 2024 has their own set of goals to accomplish. Personally, my aim within Bangkit is to prepare for a role as a Cloud Engineer tailored to industry requirements. Bangkit presents diverse challenges and opportunities that necessitate adapting my approach to goal achievement. This entails completing assignments, mastering specific technical skills, and remaining flexible in problem-solving strategies to attain objectives.
- Ways of Learning, Bangkit offers various learning methods, including active participation in Instructor-Led Training (ILT) sessions and timely task completion, to facilitate goal attainment. Through these methods, I've cultivated adaptability in the learning process, transitioning from a passive to an active learner. Additionally, I acknowledge the significance of learning from mistakes, which may include lapses in concentration and language comprehension challenges. Despite setbacks, I view them as integral to my future development and resilience.
- Ways of Working, In addition to learning, Bangkit assigns tasks to gauge comprehension, which must be completed accurately and on time. Thus, I adapt by ensuring adherence to Bangkit's assignment deadlines. This involves creating nightly schedules and implementing quadrant time management based on task urgency and importance. Furthermore, mentor reminders about upcoming activities and assignments help me stay on track, minimizing the likelihood of tardiness in submissions.
- Ways of Thinking, Bangkit fosters adaptability in thinking, encouraging openness to diverse ideas, effective idea generation, and clear conveyance for easy understanding. For instance, as I tackle an ILT task, I contemplate how best to convey the concept of "5 Ways of Adaptability" on LinkedIn to ensure mentors, peers, and profile visitors grasp the key points of my essay easily.
Embracing adaptability in the Bangkit Program has been transformative. Prioritizing effective communication, setting clear goals, and remaining flexible in approach have been key. Active participation in learning, meeting deadlines, and fostering adaptability in thinking have been pivotal. Overall, Bangkit has not only equipped me with technical skills but has also honed my adaptability for success beyond the program.
