Elevating the Video Client Experience: A Collaborative Vision

This quarter in my Entrepreneurship and Innovation program, I have learned to focus on customers and the needs they are seeking. I’m committed to delivering exceptional value not just through the final product, but through the entire client journey. Inspired by the feedback I’ve received and insights from my peers, I am now working toward co-creation of value for upcoming video projects.

The Power of Collaboration: More than Just a Service Provider

What I've come to realize during customer discovery interviews is that they value more than just technical expertise; they value a collaborative partnership. One past client, Emma Bush, praised my "ability to be flexible" and open to her ideas. My peers in the Entrepreneurship and Innovation program have expressed similar sentiments, highlighting the significance of aligning with client visions to improve end results. To that extent, I am working towards increasing positive client partnerships with the main goals as follows

  • Clear Communication: Transparent communication from the initial contact, like pricing and expectations.
  • Openness to Ideas: I have always been open to change or unique client vision, but I would like to become even more open to these concepts from clients.
  • Flexibility: The goal is to continue demonstrating the “ability to be flexible."

The New Consultation Process: A Deep Dive into Client Needs

To formalize the co-creation process, I'm introducing consultations with all potential clients before each video to help them feel more secure, flexible, and open. During these consultations, I plan to:

  • Actively Listen: This is a core tenant with the new service, where I fully listen to their ideas and visions.
  • Personal Experience: I can help offer suggestions that are tailored to their specific request to ensure the product that is being developed, is what is expected of it.

Looking Forward

By integrating co-creation into the early stages of client engagement, I aim to:

  • Enhance client satisfaction by ensuring their voice is heard from the start
  • Improve project outcomes by aligning vision with execution
  • Build stronger, long-term relationships with clients
  • Differentiate my services in a competitive market

This approach isn't just about making better videos—it's about creating a collaborative experience that adds value for both the client and myself as a creative professional.

As many others have said, a collaborative approach sounds like a great way to improve and expand upon the customer experience! Emphasizing the co-creation process through consultations with clients, I feel, could add a ton to the client experience, but also to the final outcome. It's great to see that you're finding ways to iterate and improve upon what has already been a successful business model for you! Looking forward to seeing more from you at the showcase!

Your collaborative approach to the pre-planning video process is such a unique customer experience! This allows your style as well as the clients to be fully showcased in your products, giving a very original and (I'd imagine) fully satisfied finished project. Excited to see more in the future!
