Don't Do It. 01
Don't you do it, don't do it
Don't you break my heart
Pleeeeease don't do it

My write up is not about this song. It's about some things you need to stop doing even though we don't realise it sometimes.
Never compare yourself with others (Be original, not a Copy)
Our education system is built around inducing us to be compared from a very young age. We recall statements like, "if he can do it, why can't you?" Ouch! That sounds familiar.
The excessive use of social media has not helped the cause, as we tend to compare lifestyles, wardrobes, holiday experiences and whatnot. For sure, this had a telling effect on the increasing mental health concerns. Let's not get there.

My way of handling this COMPARISON BEAST
Choose your social media channels- follow inspirational thoughts, educational thoughts, commercial awareness rather than… Please fill in the blanks; you know better.
Generally, my sought-after social media subjects are Knowledge-based channels, comedy, Spiritual Enhancement and Current Affairs, not personal affairs, :).
Stop being Jealous- I remember my childhood fights with my sister and my cousins. It was always due to jealously, which was caused by comparison. Too bad, but that's what happens when we get jealous.
In my opinion, jealousy happens due to comparison. Get into a habit of celebrating others' success. This way, I learnt to avoid jealousy; it's a slow process for sure. Things don't happen overnight.
Be thankful: It feels a lot better when you start to appreciate the things you have and the things you are capable of getting. Spending few minutes in the morning, being thankful for whatever you have makes a huge difference in how you approach your day.
Compete with your progress: Try increasing your steps and pace. Remember the old saying, "you are your biggest enemy".
Reflect: Take some serious time to reflect and analyse your setbacks. Try to understand and analyse the reasons for the setback, reflect on it, plan and conquer it.
Comparison with myself brings improvement, comparison with others brings discontent." – Betty Jamie Chung, Chinese author.
