DevOps and Agile in brief

.... and what about RPA?

Some pragmatic definitions of terms overused nowadays collected from the Internet and that I trust.

DevOps

DevOps is a software development method which focuses on communication, integration, and collaboration among IT professionals - DevOps addresses gaps in Development vs. Tests vs. Operation roles.

DevOps is not a product, and tools alone, will not enable the processes necessary to realize the full value of DevOps. People are what matter most; you can't do DevOps without building the people, mindset, and culture first.

Agile

Agile refers to an iterative approach which focuses on collaboration, customer feedback, and small, rapid releases - Agile addresses gaps in Customer and Developer communications.

Moreover, for Agile, people are indeed what matters most; you can't adopt the Agile Framework without building the people, mindset, and culture first.

... RPA

Robotic process automation (RPA) is the use of software (also using AI and ML) to handle high-volume, repeatable tasks. 

Conclusion

DevOps, Agile, and RPA does not have any relation or dependency. You can use some of them in any combination to satisfy your needs in helping IT Automation that is probably the most desired outcome to reach SW quality, time to market, and flexibility.

DevOps and Agile are made by people mindset that is the engine to support the innovation. RPA is primarily the usage of tools and data to Automate existing processes replicating human behavior.

Can we move over using IT Automation? The IT Automation itself is an enterprise project (that can include any mix of DevOps, DevSecOps, Agile, RPA, SDN, Containers, Kubernetes, Cloud, Scrum, ...).
