Data Science

Data Science is a blend of various fields like Probability, Statistics, Programming, Analysis, Cloud Computing, etc., which are used to extract value from the data provided. It is a vast field which is a booming field and all people are learning these skills to become a professional in this domain.

The term "data science" has been traced back to 1974, when Peter Naur proposed it as an alternative name for computer science. In 1996, the International Federation of Classification Societies became the first conference to specifically feature data science as a topic.  Data Science is about data gathering, analysis and decision-making. Data Science is about finding patterns in data, through analysis, and make future predictions. By using Data Science, companies are able to make the better decisions · Like in some situations there must be a option to choose a right way. For example, whether should we choose A or B for a problem statement.

The purpose of data science is to find patterns. Understanding patterns means understanding the world. In everything, from a mechanic fixing a car to a scientist making a research breakthrough, identifying a pattern is the first step towards progress. Demand for data scientists is still high while supply is low. According to IBM, this tendency will continue to be strong for years to come. Another credible source that agrees with this statement is the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The data science and computer information research field is expected to grow by 22% from 2020–2030 which is triple the rate of the average profession.

Data Science is widely used in the banking and finance sectors for fraud detection and personalized financial advice.  Transportation providers use Data Science to enhance the transportation journeys of their customers. For instance, Transport for London maps customer journeys offering personalized transportation details, and manages unexpected circumstances using statistical data. Data Science helps study utility consumption in the energy and utility domain. This study allows for better control of utility use and enhanced consumer feedback.

In the healthcare industry, physicians use Data Science to analyze data from wearable trackers to ensure their patients’ well-being and make vital decisions. Data Science also enables hospital managers to reduce waiting time and enhance care. With new open-access efforts that seek to utilize the availability of clinical trials, research, and citizen science sources for data sharing.

In the analysis techniques, especially of big data, including machine learning and artificial intelligence that can improve systematic and unstructured data analysis.·  Companies across a wide spectrum of industries are beginning to embrace data science as a means of gathering and leveraging smarter business intelligence. Those organizations that fail to keep up won't be able to compete in the future.· So, take a step to learn about Data science or Data Analytics to sculpt your future better…!
