Data Data everywhere
So, I am back from the Digital Health Congress. If I had a pint for every time I heard the word data, I would be quite tipsy. While sober however, I was thinking - should we think about data having phenotypes, here are a few examples: -
Exploratory
Collecting data to expand, prove or disprove a hunch. A good example being a clinical study.
Biomarker
Something physiological, like glucose levels from a CGM or more ‘digital’ like voice patterns.
Bio actionable
‘If then this’ in nature i.e. a value probably related to a biomarker that means a device changes.
Device Status
Fairly standard telematic stuff like device temperature, battery level etc.
Alarm/Warning
Like Bio actionable but more immediate, important or formal. Interestingly, I think these in the main are always elevated to a person.
I was recently reading about information being a boundary thing (super techy there), hence the above thinking though. When I encounter data, I find it helpful to thing about the trait I am looking for else it can be just 'data soup'.
More importantly, did anyone at the show mention my previous concern of the risk of data to the original device validation, NO. So, I will endeavor to pop down some thinking on this, very soon.
Oh, and the most interesting thing I saw was this, as I understand it the CUE2 will be Bio actionable. It was also based on some old exploratory observations by Jean-Martin Charcot.
Aww thank you Chris 😊
Very you Chris the way it is written, like it! 👌🖖🏻
