IT and Data Analytics Trends for 2020
Last year left us so many popular buzzwords. The year 2020 brings with it another decade filled with many game-changing technology trends. While some things already exist and are common finds in the known enterprise, other new technologies are prime pickings to drastically change our lifestyle.
As this new year comes along with these things, I decided to step back for a minute and look at some of the good trends we have in front of us, those which definitely are going to grow even more.
The Next Architecture: Watch out your Infrastructure, we're moving to the Cloud.
Towards the decade of serverless services like Google's Functions, Microsoft's Azure Functions, IBM OpenWhisk, and widely known AWS Lambda, among others, this year businesses are going to adopt more this approach to upgrade their legacy systems and take advantages of the cost-saving and development lifecycle benefits. This architecture in the cloud has shown faster and scalable results.
But this is just the beginning. Microservices, orchestration and container-related terms (Docker and Kubernetes) are making its own way to the decomposition and manageability of adaptable and dynamic applications in smaller and independent pieces. Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence Will Continue to Evolve
Two trends are accelerating the use of ML and AI in data-driven organizations. Even though many people fear that A.I. will bring negative effects, especially on the issue of employment and the workforce, we can expect this trend to continue, if not to grow even bigger than before.
Data Analysis Automation is opening the door for capitalization and streamline business processes. As a result, data science-related IT careers will be increasing in demand. Yet, among the impulsive drivers behind the impressive growth of data, Data as a Service strategy and no-code/low-code technologies will facilitate Data Scientists and Business users the accessibility of critical data in a timely and secure manner.
However, AI and ML will augment--not replace--human creativity in terms of framing unique analytics queries. Because AI/ML can rapidly perceive repetitive patterns, they may be able to deliver faster times to market for certain business insights.
Privacy & Security, DevOps, RPA, Blockchain, IoT, VR/AR... expanding the barriers of IT.
We have expanded into a really wide field comprising of many different things, we can certainly expect more trends to emerge in 2020 and onwards. All of this merged with data analytics is having a big impact on many areas of IT and our lifestyle. The existing framework of these well-known technologies forms the groundwork for this year's innovation to flourish. Who knows where this will lead us?
