CosmosDB in a Containerized Dev Environment

CosmosDB in a Containerized Dev Environment

For quite some time Microsoft provided an emulator for CosmosDB that helps saving costs and does not require an Azure subscription. Until recently this emulator was only available for Windows platforms. Now the emulator is also available in a Linux-based container.

As of writing the CosmosDB Emulator on Linux containers is in preview and therefore the documentation is still a bit on the light side. I wrote an article to describe how the CosmosDB container can be set up and used in a containerized development environment.

Hopefully, this is of value for development teams who target Microsoft Azure and prefer to work in a containerized environment.
