Contracting process on employees vision using @remote - corporate side
Since some days that i decided to start looking for new opportunities, i needed to refresh all my knowledge of hr tools, sites and contacts and one of them @remote ( remote.com ), one of my favourites, was in my list to be tested. Not as contractor or company, as a job searcher.
Im focused on searching for positions into Startups, that i don't think will have much options to use @remote because the prices ( 599USD/month / employee ) . Thats a extra cost that early stage startups can not handle. At least the ones i was involved, in early stages, having a extra cost of 7188USD per employee per year is a "dream".
So this solution of @remote is more focused on companies that are in more advanced stages or bigger well deployed corporations.
In any case, im open for a corporate job if it can be done where i am based. So how to search for that kind of job and not being rejected just because you are not x kms from the headquarter? I thought with all this about the Covid, corporation will be more open to contract people not that near and were more open to remote positions, but looks like is NOT like that.
They say and show announces about being #remote or that they are doing their #digitaltransformation and bla bla bla, with big ads on instagram, facebook, linkedin even tiktok! but the reality is that when comes to HR, the mandate is to search for people that is near "in case" they need to make a meeting in person. There we have. Again the same. Everything was just a marketing strategy.
So, concentrating in the process, after finding some ( counted with the hand ) companies opened for remote contracts, i suggest to some hr people from some corporates to use @remote so make all the process easy and agile.
But one stopper they found: the need to register so remote call back.
They need all that explanation written somewhere easy to access and the only thing they found is the page where it shows how it works:
In resume, they said, that sadly is not possible to continue because they can not contract someone not in a region where they don't operate. That they will continue looking for this @remote solution, but for now they can not.
I know, because im following @remote since long time, that all the process , client onboarding and employee contract is easy to handle and very quick. But sadly is still something that i could test by myself yet.
Are you a company interested in trying this service with me?
