CONTEXT

CONTEXT

CONTEXT matters. The young boy was so proud. He saw the toilet and knew just what to do. He did it himself the first time and proudly called out "Dad, look what I did." His father had a different view of the CONTEXT -- he was shopping in the hardware store.

A year ago I was posting on JUST ENOUGH and found a future view adding JUST FOR ME.

The CONTEXT determines the value of which JUST is desired.

When preparing for the future, JUST IN CASE is valued. Insurance, emergency preparedness, retirement planning -- there are products and services where this is the value. Many people get into trouble later and missed this value earlier.

But so many more people need or want things now. JUST IN TIME adds a lot more value. DynaMed Plus provides substantially higher value by pulling the vast "JUST IN CASE" information together for JUST IN TIME use in clinical practice. Of course the details matter but the change in CONTEXT is one of the major factors behind it.

As we get increasing demands with information overload and technology overload we get increasing demands for seeing only the most relevant information. In many forms (internet use, mobile use, direct integration with many other systems, use for development for many other systems) we are seeing greater demand for JUST ENOUGH information -- smaller targeted packets of information.

With EBSCO Health Option Grid we will be creating patient decision aids. These brief tools will provide JUST ENOUGH information JUST IN TIME for patients covering the patient-important questions JUST IN CASE they need it for the decision facing them. But we are also now adding JUST FOR ME concepts as we make decision aids that can be individualized. It is an exciting time to see this progression.

Exciting update... just when you think Dynamed couldn't get any better:)
