Confessions of a "Full Stack" Developer: A Humorous Insight
As a self-proclaimed "Full Stack" Developer, I've come to realize that my job title is more of an adventure than a description of my skills. Sure, I might not be as mythical as the job postings make it seem, but I do find myself doing a bit of everything.
You know the drill: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQ Grid some framework du jour, a sprinkle of backend languages like Java, Spring, Rest API/micro service and a dash of database magic. Oh, and let's not forget the cloud stuff – AWS, Azure, Google Cloud – because apparently, I should be able to build a skyscraper with my bare hands while I'm at it.
But hey, I'm not complaining. I enjoy the challenge of juggling multiple technologies and wearing different hats throughout the day. Need someone to troubleshoot a front-end bug? I'm your guy. Updating a procedure/ function for a new DB requirement? Sure, why not? Just give me a minute to figure it.
And as for those unrealistic expectations and tight deadlines? Well, let's just say I've become quite skilled at the art of caffeinated coding and sleep deprivation.
But despite the chaos and occasional overwhelm, there's a certain satisfaction in being able to see a project through from start to finish.
And hey,
if you happen to have a seat where I can wirelessly connect my head to the CPU while my hands are glued to the keyboard, count me in.
Because in the end, it's all about embracing the adventure of being a Full Stack Developer in this crazy IT world.
Signing off with the hope that the IT warriors out there will help me find a place with them to fit and fight with the ever evolving tech.
