Computer literacy

Computer learning programs allow students to broaden their possibilities and learn skills that they would not have had the opportunity to learn in the traditional classroom, and they are becoming increasingly important in every job sector. Computer literacy covered a wide spectrum of abilities, from basic computer use to programming and expert problem-solving. It covers everything from basic computer hardware and software used to more advanced computer programming. Knowing the definitions of key computing terms is also part of computer literacy

Why is computer literacy important?

It's significant for a variety of reasons, including the fact that many professions involve some level of computer use. For example, office work revolves primarily around a computer, and having basic computer literacy skills can assist children in progressing to more advanced skills such as programming. The majority of today's communication is digital. Children must learn how to use a variety of communication tools to communicate with others in a safe, appropriate, and effective manner. In the future, children who have achieved computer literacy in key stages 1 and 2 will be able to proceed to more sophisticated and technical computer abilities.

Computer illiteracy in school:

Despite the fact that today's pupils are increasingly being referred to be "digital natives," household norms and socioeconomic variables might influence a child's capacity to achieve age-appropriate computer literacy. Laptops and smartphones are increasingly being used in schools, and computer skills are becoming more important such that reflecting their importance in the world outside of school. Students who do not learn age-appropriate computer skills like typing, online research, and discerning internet usage may fall behind in their classes and struggle to maintain their grades; such difficulties may even persist into adulthood.

Computer illiteracy in the workplace:

Computers have standardized almost every aspect of the workday for employees and businesses all over the world, making computer literacy a necessary skill at every stage of getting hired for and working with a job and they also looking to fill job openings frequently require online resume submissions from prospective applicants, and they are also more likely to hire computer literate candidates, as these candidates require less time to train and are more efficient at their jobs.
