Coding and Robotics
As a certified software developer, I was excited to hear that the government is considering implementing coding and robotics in schools, because I have seen firsthand the importance of learning or having such skills.
Going digital means change and it is never easy to adapt but change is inevitable, so the introduction of innovative technologies means convenience, growth, and sustainability.
As we are about to fully immense ourselves in the 4IR (4th Industrial Revolution) it is important for people to up skill and educate themselves about the new dawn, so I believe that engaging with kids at an early age will be beneficial for them as we all know we have self-taught programmers who are making it big in the tech world and that will encourage entrepreneurship eventually, however I don’t think it should be compulsory as we all have different aspirations in life the last thing we want is to hinder a child from being able to live their truth.
One would ask what the fuss is about over coding and robotics? Well, the answer is simple coding and robotics sparks a conversation of innovation and invention, we have seen countless inventions over the past few months that give conformation that we are moving in the right direction.
The industry also helps with creativity, interpersonal skills and helps one gain excellent communication skills that they will most definitely need because in this field teamwork is important.
These are some of the STEAM robotics key benefits that I came across.

2. Coding develops computational thinking skills.
3. Technology becomes the playground.
4. Robotics makes coding tangible and concrete.
5. Using technology breaks down engineering stereotypes.
6. The engineering design process encourages persistence.
These benefits are the key drive to understanding a new era and hopefully encourage people to partake in this revolutionary journey.
As I embark on a journey of being a junior cloud app developer, I felt the need to write on this to help understand the future of coding and robotics and outline the importance of upskilling and joining forces.
