The Case for Edge Clouds

Edge clouds are the new model for delivering resources for more powerful Internet of Things (IoT) devices and intelligent edge applications. By placing compute, storage and networking at the very edges of the network, edge clouds allow sophisticated IoT devices and applications to make decisions based on different criteria and events.

Many new devices and applications utilize a “sense, analyze, act” model which requires much more processing power than is typically available on specialized devices. Edge clouds solve this problem by making scalable infrastructure resources readily available, enabling an almost endless variety of new applications and services.

CPLANE NETWORKS' latest infographic – The Case for Edge Clouds – takes a look at a few interesting use cases. If you would like a copy of this infographic you may download it here.
