Capturing the value of big data
Veenman is a leading company active in the managed printing industry. The fleet of 14000 multi-functional printing devices produces an enormous amount of data. In this project, the use of advanced data analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence were explored.
Methodology
As part of the ICCOS project, a group of students developed an enterprise architecture as the foundation for business intelligence, big data analytics and data-driven decision making. Additionally, a pilot project was initiated with Catalytics to explore the potential of the available customer and service data.
Results
The project led to in-depth insight regarding the current performance of the fleet as well as the factors influencing profitability and efficiency. More specifically, a dashboard was developed and predictive analytics techniques were applied. Furthermore, the results were used for data-driven strategy setting for market segments, device types and consumption profiles.
