Call To ACTION!

           2019 marked the end of not only the year, but a decade of ups and downs, highs and lows, and blood, sweat, and tears. As we march full steam ahead into 2020, I enjoy pausing for a moment to reminisce over the prior year. Looking back on my New Year’s Resolution to create resolve in 2019, I ask myself did I resolve anything?

 From where I sit and my perspective, I have brought closure and resolve to many things over the past year. Some small, some large, some important, some not. Focusing on closure and resolve allowed me to concentrate on the necessary, instead of dabbling and participating in things that just aren’t needed anymore. For this I am grateful. Through resolve, I have been more focused on my actions, deliberate with my time, and more accomplished with my successes.

 In 2020 my resolution will be ACTION!!! As a seasoned business owner, I have spent numerous hours learning about thought review, training, and risk analysis; which have consequently caused me to act more conservatively. I am a planner now. I strategize more. I have written business plans for the current year, the next five years, and even a ten-year target. I think before I speak and act. I consult with others before making big decisions. Sometimes innovative ideas get left in the process, or opportunities are missed because of this reluctance. This is what a decade as a business owner has conditioned me to do. Yet am I having the same successes? I am no longer the quick witted and courageous young chap that found success by taking risk and immediate action. Not to downplay my earlier results, as the choices in life I have made would have never landed me where I am today. (Which, in my mind, is a level of success I could have never imagined!)

 For me, 2020 is going to be a year of ACTION. No more missed opportunities or ideas that get stuck in the system. I have worked hard years prior to establish the foundation, infrastructure, and vision. We have a successful team with the right people in the right seats. I am now ready to take action again! I am going to act with urgency, often, and with empathy. I will lead by example and will encourage and empower our teams to take action as well. Action has always yielded results. 2020 will be the year of results through the actions we take.
