Often I meet people who are so excited to hear, learn and want to adopt devops.. but then before they actually adopt, they also have to convince and put up a case to get a buy in. Seeing this happens often , wanted to come up with some real time findings why any software organization should adopt devops.

As per 2015 State of DevOps Report sponsored by Puppet Labs, based on 4976 survey responses, the study confirms that IT organizations who are practicing DevOps concepts - especially lean management and continuous delivery approach, have higher hand in achieving their business goals.

They deploy 30 times more frequently with 200 times shorter lead times.

They have 60 times fewer failures and recover 168 times faster.

They are 1.5 times more likely to exceed their profitability, market share, and productivity goals

To summarize all these can we say, the return on devops initiative is improved IT Performance which is the real business value?
