Time spent learning isn’t a distraction from the job – it’s an investment in better outcomes, for our people and our clients. That’s why every Propel Tech team member is encouraged to spend 10% of their contracted time on learning and development, budgets and resources in place to support this.

A perfect example is our very own Scotty Robson , Senior Developer, who has just achieved the AWS Certified Developer Associate qualification. It’s a big milestone, and one that strengthens our AWS credentials and enhances the support we offer clients every day.

A passion for AWS and a clear learning goal

Scotty’s always been hands-on with AWS – but this was about taking that knowledge to the next level.

“I’ve always had a keen interest in AWS and use their services every single day. I’d previously completed a foundational accreditation back when I was an apprentice, but it expired a while ago. I wanted to renew that certification and go further."

Turning learning into action – and sharing it with others

For Scotty, this was more than just passing a test – it was about discovering new possibilities and sharing that value with the wider team.

"I’ve really enjoyed getting stuck into services I’d never used before and immediately seeing ways they could be applied to live projects and future solutions."
