Big Data- All smart everything

With the digital outburst of data owing to technological advancements allowing accumulation of information from the tangible world that humans live in; from smartphones which are constantly generating data every time you send a message on social media or view Instagram or have the GPS on. It is like leaving virtual footsteps whenever you do anything on your mobile phone or gadgets.

Data is being produced by smart Bluetooth controlled home devices as well as sensor controlled industrial machinery in factories that endlessly transmit data.

Big data uses this gathered information in a way that helps you gain fresh insights and make predictions. Big Data is responsible for the Digital Metamorphosis involving Artificial Intelligence and the buzzing concept of Internet of Things. Big Data has a modern definition in the 3V’s:

Volume: the agglomeration of abundance of data from various sources with the aid of softwares like Hadoop

Velocity: the flow of data is at a phenomenal speed and is managed promptly

Variety: data gathers in unstructured, semi-structured and structured configurations, Big data combines data in a putting together a puzzle way

Big Data utilizes groundbreaking analytics suchlike machine learning where the computer itself recognizes the data like images and voice and are extremely accurate and more efficient than humans.

The true excellence of Big Data is exhibited in the fact that it can process, analyze and evaluate raw data to dig up foresight and perceptions.

The benefits associated with employing Big Data in any organization are: Mistakes can be spotted instantaneously and action can be taken, you can always stay one step ahead of your competitor, services can be improved drastically causing higher revenue, fraudulence can be caught in a jiffy minimizing losses, customer trends can be identified easily.

The most appealing characteristics of Big Data are: Trustworthiness, Actionable, Timely, Secure, Accessible, Relevant, Authoritative and Holistic

Over the next few years Big Data is going to revolutionize with the speedy transformation of technology causing data to multiply which will lead to better more enhanced ways to analyse data and overtime Big Data will be replaced by the terms ‘Fast Data’.

Cognitive computing- This concept deals with actual human-to-machine interaction (H2M). They will be able to understand demands, make connections and draw inferences. They could justify, perceive and strategise.
