Best Progressive Web Apps Frameworks

Best Progressive Web Apps Frameworks

A Progressive Web App (PWA) is a web app that uses modern web capabilities to deliver an app-like experience to users. These apps meet certain requirements (see below), are deployed to servers, accessible through URLs, and indexed by search engines. Various PWA is given as below

1.   Angular

2.   React

3.   Vue

4.   Ionic

5.   Polymer

  1.  Angular

Angular(is also known as AngularJS) is a structured, JavaScript framework used for dynamic one-page applications. Being a framework it uses code templates written in HTML in order to perform a particular function or command. The data binding and dependency functionalities of Angular JS saves time invested in writing lengthy codes. All these features are packaged in a browser that makes it a suitable server technology.

There is a considerable difference between Static documents and dynamic applications. Dynamic applications typically use a library and a framework that supports creating web apps. While the library contains a number of functions used to perform certain operations, framework automatically takes the data and calls the functions when needed. However, Angular JS creates new HTML constructs that eventually eliminate this mismatch effectively. It creates new syntax with the help of directives.

Key Benefits of Angular

  • Easy implementation since the methodology used is clearly defined
  • The addition of CLI has shortened the learning curve for the framework
  • Includes IntelliSense and Typescript
  • Excellent support, as Google backs it

2. React

React (also known as React.js or ReactJS) is a JavaScript library for building user interfaces. It is maintained by Facebook and a community of individual developers and companies.

React can be used as a base in the development of single-page or mobile applications, as it is optimal for fetching rapidly changing data that needs to be recorded. However, fetching data is only the beginning of what happens on a web page, which is why complex React applications usually require the use of additional libraries for state management, routing, and interaction with an API Next.js and Gatsby.js are examples of such libraries.

Supported by Facebook, React is yet another popular and highly functional PWA framework. It is famous among developers due to its highly extensive JavaScript library.

Key Benefits of React

  • A pervasive ecosystem
  • Facebook maintains the code, which ensures smooth operations and support
  • The framework helps create scalable and flexible apps
  • The code used to React for web apps can also be used for native apps
  • The rendering process is very speedy, thanks to Virtual-DOM

3. Vue

(Vue is also vue.js) is an open-source JavaScript framework for building user interfaces and single-page applications. It is first created by Evan You and now is maintained by him and the rest of the active core team members coming from various companies such as Netlify and Netguru. Just like React, you can use additional packages to scale up your app using Vue.

Key Benefits of Vue

  • Big players like Laravel and Alibaba support the framework
  • Since the code is simple; it is easy for new developers to learn it
  • The framework is quite simple and has similar concepts like Angular and React

4. Ionic

Ionic was introduced back in 2013. It is an open-source framework which has its foundation on Angular framework as well as Apache Cordova. Ionic is a complete open-source SDK for hybrid mobile app development created by Max Lynch, Ben Sperry, and Adam Bradley of Drifty Co. in 2013. The original version was released in 2013 and built on top of AngularJS and Apache Cardova. However, The latest release was re-built as a set of Web Components, allowing the user to choose any user interface framework, such as Angular, React or Vue.js. It also allows the use of Ionic components with no user interface framework at all. Ionic provides tools and services for developing hybrid mobile, desktop, and Progressive Web Apps based on modern web development technologies and practices, using Web technologies like CSS, HTML, and Saas. In particular, mobile apps can be built with these Web technologies and then distributed through native app stores to be installed on devices by utilizing Cordova or Capacitor.

Key Benefits of Ionic

  • Since the framework is open-source, it can be acquired for free, which reduces the cost of development
  • It is easier for developers to learn how it works
  • The built-in tools allow for easy maintenance
  • It features a large community of users
  • It has an extensively extensive library. You can access APIs without coding.

5. Polymer

The polymer is an open-source JavaScript library. for building web applications using Web Components. This makes it an excellent choice for PWA development since the operation aspect becomes highly simplified. The library is being developed by Google developers and contributors on GitHub. Modern design principles are implemented as a separate project using Google's Material Design design principles.

The polymer is used by a number of Google services and websites, including the redesigned YouTube, YouTube Gaming, the redesigned Google Earth, Google I/O websites, Google Play Music, redesign of Google Sites and All for the web.

Key Benefits of Polymer

  • It features full support, including routing, data tier, and responsive layouts
  • The API is easy to understand
  • Presence of embedded development tools render the need for debugging tools unnecessary
