Artificial Intelligence – Will it change everything?

Artificial Intelligence – Will it change everything?

Hello there, I couldn’t resist taking some time off to talk about this amazing term we come across these days – AI. What is it? Of course, it’s something more than Siri and Cortana.

Okay Cortana, Times up. Let me write my own Article!

Let me bore you with some technical terms first. AI or Artificial Intelligence is the simulation of human intelligence by machines, which is computer systems. The process includes learning, reasoning and self-correction.

AI was coined by John McCarthy, an American computer scientist, in 1956. Yip, Just 10 years after Trump was born. Scientists classify AI as Strong AI (which Facebook, Google and others are trying to develop) and Weak AI (Your Siri). Strong AI will outperform Humans at nearly every cognitive task. Yeah, you heard that right my high school principal, you will be the first Alvin replaces. Oh yeah, well, Alvin will be my own AI when Elon Musk’s OpenAI gets going and I get some hands-0n in the lab. By the way, OpenAI is 21st century’s most transformative technology and Elon gave it away for free. It’s the best place to be if you are interested in AI. Of course, Python is needed to code.

Alright, that’s enough of technical information, how do you think AI will change the world we live in? Well, to be honest, We can’t really say. Last month, Facebook has to shut down their chatbot because they invented their own bizarre form of communication. Must we be worried? Probably. A self-learning AI is more dangerous than North Korea but should we then, stop researching. Hell no!

I want Alvin in 2030 to tell me News, Phone my Family and Read my emails while it drives my car to work every morning.

I can say this with confidence that Superintelligence is not just years away, At least Decades. And Intelligence enables control, that is why we control Tigers because we are smarter. So yes, A misaligned AI can take over. It just needs an internet connection. The Benefit of Artificial Intelligence outweighs the risks, According to Stephen Hawkins, We do have reason to beware of the consequences of AI including the possibility of the end of the human race. We have a choice, embrace it or Fear it.

Take a moment to think about the greater possibilities an AI can bring to this world of ours. Real world examples include Microsoft’s development of a Skype System that can automatically translate from one language to another and Facebook’s system that can describe images to blind people. The goal is to create technology that allows machines to function in an intelligent manner.

We can find a cure to chronic diseases. Imagine the world without diseases. We can solve the complex theories of Dark matter. AI in future can help reduce crime by behavior monitoring. The challenge is how can we regulate it!

Finally, it will be the world worth living or a doom!

Cheers until next time!

Thanks a lot Verona Naicker and Luren Mackinlay. I'm glad you liked it.
