Announcing my "Caucus Report" App
Given the problems calculating delegates in the Iowa Caucuses, I'm pleased to announce my latest iOS App: "Caucus Report".
"Caucus Report" allows Nevada Caucus attendees to enter precinct information, number of delegates, and vote totals. The app calculates candidate viability and delegate awards according to Nevada Caucus Rules (including determining if any tiebreakers are required). The attendee can use the app to generate a Tweet with unofficial results.
"Caucus Report" is free in the US iOS App Store for iPhones. iPad support is planned before the #NevadaCaucus on February 22nd.
"Caucus Report" is implemented in #Swift using #SwiftUI. To support election transparency it is #OpenSource at https://github.com/darrellroot/CaucusReport
Election transparency is important. Anyone in the US has until February 22nd to download and test the app. Anyone can review the source code to verify neutrality. The source code is available under the lenient #MIT license, allowing anyone to use it to create their own delegate calculator (keep in mind that delegate award rules vary from state to state).
I welcome test feedback. In particular, if anyone can find a vote allocation where my app calculates delegates incorrectly, I'd love to fix the app before the 22nd :-)
Disclaimer: This app and I are not associated with the Nevada Democrat Party. Any use of this app by election officials should be verified by a second method of calculation.
