Announcing Keep Secure
If you have been keeping up with the news these days, you'd be well aware that 2017 is shaping up to be yet another devastating year for cyber security. Attackers are getting more and more sophisticated, and companies still can't even get the basics right. One only need to wander over to databreaches.net to get a daily dose of disaster both large and small.
2017 also marks the year where cyber security is getting more into the mainstream. These days, you routinely see these types of breaches in the main stream news, or on the business channels. Maybe this is because the breaches are getting larger, and starting to affect more people. Late last year, the Canadian government launched a public consultation on cyber security in an effort to better understand what the government can help do about this issue. You can read about it here. Security is heavily in the spotlight.
So, one could say, right now is the perfect time to launch a new security consulting company. And this is exactly what I am doing. In partnership with my good friend Sean Gowing, we have decided to start a small security consulting firm to help businesses here in Canada.
Security is extremely vast subject area, so one might ask: what problems can we help with? Between Sean and I, we have several years of security experience. The best part about our combined experience is the fact that we do not overlap much. While my career has taken me down the path of application development, cloud, and devops, Sean's path has been rooted in traditional infrastructure and SCADA systems.
We believe that businesses need pragmatic security advice that strikes a balance between cost and effectiveness. With that in mind, the following are core services that we can offer:
- Incident Response Planning
- Security Strategy
- Security Assessments (Application/Infrastructure)
- Security Implementations
- Business Continuity
If you are a business, a startup, or a consulting agency looking for help in the security space, drop a comment or feel free to message me directly. We can provide guidance across the spectrum of security issues, and if we can't, we will at least try to point you in the right direction.
And, as always, KEEP SECURE.
