All Out Combat

Actual Issue: Ongoing face off in Ladakh in due to undefined line of border in the world map between both the countries at Ladakh due to which both countries have their own LAC and as per Chinese army they are still in their territory. For 17yrs now a special committee was setup under then prime minister Atal Binhari Vajpayee to clearly define the line but Chinese communist party delaying in finalizing actual geographical location.

Chronological sequence of events:

1. 5th May,2020- A large mass of armed Chinese soldiers attacked Indian Army and situated got heated up around Line of Actual control-LAC (Ladakh).

2. 9th May,2020- Around 150 Indian and Chinese army soldiers engaged in a face off at Naku la Pass in Sikkim and around 10-15 soldiers on both ends got injured.

3. Present- Chinese army have crossed LAC and now in Indian territory occupying around 3-4 Km of area.

For nearly 20 day standoff between both the armies, Indian Army has significantly ramped up its presence in sensitive areas of Ladakh, Sikkim, Uttrakhand and Arunachal Pradesh.

Constant diplomatic talks are going on between both and Trump's offer to mediate on standoff with china has been revoked by both countries and hence tactfully keeping western power at a distance. (Smart move by both countries indeed to prevent future intervention in South Asian disputes!!)

Why NOW this step has been taken by Chinese govt.?

Probably due to following reasons- Xi Jinping will buy time for strengthening his weakening position in China by initially a topic of discussion on Nationalism, to increase influence in South Asia by expanding infrastructure, potentially to hit back India on Doklam issue of 2017 in which China had to take a back steps or due to most contemporary reason India was one of the 62 countries to have an independent investigation on COVID-19 origins!
