ADAS - Know how
Few terminology names are commonly interchanged in the industry. Let us understand the difference.
Autonomous driving is the ability of a vehicle to drive itself, without any human input.
Self-driving is often thought of as a future concept or vision in which cars would be able to complete all phases from start to finish without any human input.
A popular technology called #ADAS (not same as Autonomous Driving), which is gaining traction in the automotive industry, is presented here for high-level technical know-how.
#ADAS (Advance Driver Assistance System) is a multi-disciplinary system consisting of Hardware (Sensors, Actuators, Cameras), Software (Control algorithm, vision based algorithms, vision processing etc.,) and data management (data collection, processing, and decision making).
The main goal of ADAS is to help the driver to avoid mistakes while driving, by providing with information and warnings, thus improving the safety, reducing the accidents and saving lives.
