3 Types of Creativity
As human beings we are all creative.
Throughout our lives we are continually engaged with three types of creativity, which are:
1. Creativity in personal life.
As soon as we wake up or even in our dreams or in deep sleep we create our own world. Each of us creates our own world in which we live, either comfortably or in pain. This is the first type of creativity. Most often we are not even aware of this beautiful creation of ours.
2. Creativity in family life.
Seemingly mundane jobs like making tea or cooking food or helping children with their homework involve a high level of creativity. This is the second type of creativity that we practice in our regular family life.
3. Creativity in social life.
Through our jobs, services and through our interactions with the people around us we continually create and recreate our society and our relationships. This is the third type of creativity that we generally practice as productive professionals.
How are the three types related?
Of the three, the first type of creativity is the most important. It determines, informs and directs the other two types of creativity.
Without the first, the other two lose meaning or become meaningless and even at times create frustration and depression.
Creativity, which governs any type of intelligence we might think of, (like IQ, EQ, Cultural Intelligence, Spatial, ...etc) has two interlinked components -- idea generation and putting an idea into action.
Type 1 Creativity helps us in idea generation. While Type 2 and 3 help us put those ideas into action.
New ideas can only be created when we continually challenge the design of the world we create or have created. If the design is fixed and rigid there can be no new ideas to live life differently.
Fortunately, the good thing about honing creative skills and intelligence to create significant improvements in our lives and in the lives of others is simply a matter of continual practice.

10ySimply and direct put, love it :-) Re :"Creativity, which governs any type of intelligence we might think of, (like IQ, EQ, Cultural Intelligence, Spatial, ...etc) has two interlinked components -- idea generation and putting an idea into action." Only by 'being there', with all of us :-) meaning with all our 'awaken' senses or, metaphorically said with our eyes and ears wide open :-), we are able to connect the links you mentioned, choosing that idea that fits the context we are in, being let's say 'available' for acting in its spirit. Thank you.
