Stop choosing programming languages based on YouTube "Top 10" lists. 🛑 I’ve seen too many brilliant students spend 6 months mastering a language, only to realize there are ZERO jobs for it in their city. Or worse, they pick a language so complex that they quit coding entirely within weeks. Choosing a language isn't about what's "cool" or "new." It’s about alignment. If you want to build games, don't start with Python. If you want to do Data Science, don't start with PHP. The language is just a tool. If you pick the wrong tool, the job becomes 10x harder. Check the image below for the 10 most common mistakes I see candidates make. Which language are you learning right now, and what’s your goal? Let’s see if they match! 👇 #Coding #SoftwareEngineering #CareerAdvice #Programming #TechJobs

🚀 Built a Pomodoro Timer using Python & Tkinter as part of my learning journey! As a 3rd year B.Tech student, I’m trying to move beyond theory and actually build projects. This project really helped me understand how real GUI applications work behind the scenes. 💡 What I learned from the code: • How event-driven programming works (buttons trigger functions instead of running line by line) • Used Tkinter’s after() method to create a countdown timer without freezing the UI ⏱️ • Managed app state using global variables like reps to control work & break cycles • Applied logic using % (modulus) to switch between work sessions, short breaks, and long breaks • Converted seconds into minutes & seconds using // and % • Updated UI dynamically using canvas.itemconfig() and label.config() ✨ Features: ✅ Work & break cycles ✅ Long break after 4 sessions ✅ Real-time countdown timer ✅ Progress tracking with checkmarks ✔️ 🔗 GitHub: https://lnkd.in/dPx_45ut ⏱️ Timer durations are shortened in the demo for quick preview. Still learning, but building projects like this is helping me understand concepts much better than just reading theory 💻 #Python #Tkinter #100DaysOfCode #BTechStudent #CodingJourney #BeginnerDeveloper #LearningByDoing #Programming #SoftwareDevelopment #StudentLife #FutureEngineer #BuildInPublic #GitHubProjects #DeveloperJourney #TechLearning

🐍 Day 8 of Our Python Programming Course — Entering OOP! 🚀 Today at SkillRover Technologies, our students stepped into one of the most powerful concepts in programming — Object-Oriented Programming (OOP). We covered: ✅ What OOP means and why it matters ✅ The 4 Pillars of OOP (Encapsulation, Inheritance, Polymorphism, Abstraction) ✅ How to define a class in Python This is where students move from writing simple scripts to building structured, scalable, real-world applications. Understanding OOP is what separates beginners from developers who can build complex systems. At SkillRover Technologies, we break down advanced concepts in a way that makes them easy to understand and apply. 📌 Mini Takeaway: If you can understand OOP, you can build powerful software. 🚀 April Batch Enrollment is Ongoing! 🚀 Understanding Core Concepts in Asynchronous Programming As part of my ongoing Python Full Stack Training, I have been learning key concepts related to how programs handle execution and task management efficiently. 🔹 Synchronous vs Asynchronous Programming Understood how synchronous execution runs tasks one after another in a blocking manner Explored asynchronous execution where tasks can run independently without blocking the main flow Learned how async approach is useful in handling API calls, file operations, and network requests 🔹 JavaScript vs Python in Async Handling ☑️JavaScript Works on a single-threaded, event-driven model Uses event loop with callbacks, promises, and async/await ☑️Python Supports asynchronous programming using asyncio and async/await Commonly used in backend development and automation tasks 🔹 Event Loop Concept Understood the basic working of the event loop It manages and executes asynchronous tasks when the main thread is free Helps in achieving non-blocking execution in single-threaded environments 💡 Learning Outcome This topic helped me understand how modern applications manage multiple tasks efficiently without blocking execution. I am continuing to practice these concepts through hands-on coding in my training. #Python #JavaScript #AsyncProgramming #EventLoop #FullStackDevelopment #LearningJourney Vamsi Paidi

New Instats livestreaming seminar: Introduction to Web App Development with Shiny in Python Turn your analyses into interactive, reproducible tools with our hands‑on seminar on Shiny for Python — no JavaScript required. Designed for PhD students, postdocs and academic staff, this workshop (taught by Dr Fodil Ihaddaden) shows how to combine the Python scientific stack (pandas, matplotlib, plotly) with a reactive UI layer to build interactive figures, dashboards and small apps that enhance transparency, speed up discovery, and strengthen manuscripts, teaching and grant outputs. You’ll learn core Shiny concepts, reactive programming, modular app structure, debugging and testing strategies, performant plotting for large data, and basic deployment — capped by a mini project and practical design guidance that supports reproducible research. Livestream sessions on Zoom are complemented by 30‑day access to recordings, materials and a monitored Q&A forum; a certificate of completion is provided (ECTS equivalent points shown where applicable). Register or contact us to learn more. #Bioinformatics #Economics #SoftwareEngineering #ComputerScience #DataScience #Python #Research #ResearchTraining #Instats

I learned to code at 24 Here's what I wish someone told me: 1. You don't need a CS degree. I don't have one. Nobody ever asked. 2. Build projects, not tutorials. Ten tutorials = nothing. One project = everything. 3. The imposter syndrome never goes away. You just get comfortable being uncomfortable. I still feel like a fraud sometimes. The difference is I don't let it stop me anymore. 4. Every senior dev was once junior. Every single one. Time is the only thing that separates you from them. 5. The best programming language is the one that ships. Python, JavaScript, Go, it doesn't matter. Ship something. That's how you learn. Reply with the lesson you learned the hard way.
