🚀 Visual Studio 2026 just dropped, and it’s packed with upgrades that developers will actually use. Here are a few I’m especially excited about 👇 1️⃣ Code Coverage for all editions Code Coverage is now available across all versions of Visual Studio, no Enterprise license required. This makes it much easier to validate test completeness directly in the IDE and eliminates the need for tools like Fine Code Coverage. Shorter feedback loops = faster confidence. 2️⃣ Adaptive Paste with Copilot When you paste code, Copilot automatically handles renaming, formatting, and context adjustments. If it works as well as advertised, this could remove a ton of friction from refactors and code reviews. 3️⃣ Copilot understands uncommitted changes You can now query GitHub Copilot using your uncommitted changes as context. That unlocks some powerful use cases — checking for missing unit tests, reviewing logic, or validating patterns before you push a branch. I’ll be testing these features in my daily workflow over the next few weeks. 💬 What new feature are you most excited to try in Visual Studio 2026? #VisualStudio #GitHubCopilot #DotNet #CSharp #DeveloperTools #Coding #Productivity

Microsoft has introduced a new AI-powered capability called Planning in Visual Studio, available in public preview with Visual Studio 2022 v17.14. This expands GitHub Copilot’s Agent Mode to handle larger, multi-step coding tasks by creating a visible markdown plan that tracks each step as it executes. The result: more predictable, transparent AI-assisted development inside Visual Studio.

Visual Studio just became an 'Intelligent Developer Environment.' The IDE acronym got new meaning. AI agents now debug your code while you think. Microsoft just dropped .NET 10 and Visual Studio 2026. This isn't just another update. It's a complete shift in how we build software. The standout feature? The new Agent Framework. It merges Semantic Kernel and AutoGen technologies. AI agents now work together on your projects. They collaborate, process in parallel, and handle complex tasks while you focus on bigger problems. Visual Studio 2026 delivers real performance gains: • 50% fewer hangs on large projects • Significantly faster loading times • 5,000 bug fixes implemented • 300 feature requests addressed The architecture changed too. The IDE is now decoupled from build tools. You can update Visual Studio without breaking your toolchain. Backward compatibility remains strong. Over 4,000 extensions work seamlessly. GitHub Copilot integration makes upgrading to .NET 10 automatic. Subscribers get instant license activation. Standalone licenses launch December 1. This represents Microsoft's decade-long plan to make .NET the most performant development platform ever created. The future of coding is collaborative. Human creativity meets AI efficiency. 🚀 Visual Studio 2026 = Real Productivity Gains Just spent time with the new VS 2026 builds and the impact on day-to-day dev work is obvious: Why it’s faster to ship: Copilot is solution-aware → fewer context switches, smarter refactors, log explanations right in the IDE. Adaptive Paste → “paste → done” instead of “paste → fix.” Snappier big solutions → faster open/search/debug on large C# & C++ repos. Zero-friction upgrade→ runs side-by-side with VS2022; most extensions just work. *Polished UI & themes → small but real focus boost in long sessions. What this means for my stack (.NET 10 + Angular 20): * Quicker API/controller scaffolds with Copilot + Adaptive Paste. * Cleaner debug loops: ask Copilot to summarize Output Window noise and propose fixes. * Fewer “SDK mismatch” yak-shaves with up-to-date toolchains. 💡 Bottom line: less time fighting the toolchain, more time shipping features. https://lnkd.in/dA-9FtVb What feature gave you the biggest speed-up in VS 2026? #VisualStudio2026 #DotNet #CSharp #Angular #DeveloperProductivity #AIinDev #Copilot #SoftwareEngineering #Compaex #KeralaStartups #Azure #DevTools #ai
