One thing I’ve realized while learning development… It’s not the tools that make things hard — it’s the thinking. I spent a lot of time learning Python, Django, and front-end basics. I could follow tutorials, understand code, and build small features. But when I tried to build something on my own from scratch, I didn’t know where to begin. Not because I lacked knowledge — but because I didn’t know how to approach the problem. That changed when I started doing a few things differently: • I stopped jumping straight into coding and first wrote down the problem • I broke features into very small, manageable steps • I started asking myself “why does this work?” instead of just running code That shift made a real difference. Now, when I work on something: • I focus more on structure before implementation • I get unstuck faster • I feel more comfortable building without relying on tutorials I’m still learning, but I’m finally understanding how to think like a developer, not just code like one. Most beginner developers don’t fail because they can’t code. They fail because they don’t know what to code. Today, while learning at Tsacademy, I understood something simple but powerful: Before writing a single line of code, ask yourself: 1. Who is this app for? If you don’t clearly define the user, you’ll end up building for everyone — and helping no one. 2. What exactly will the user do? Every feature should tie back to a clear action: Sign up, buy, track, request, learn… If it’s not tied to user behavior, it’s probably unnecessary. 3. How does the user get started? (Onboarding) This includes things like: Authentication (login/signup) First-time experience Guiding the user to value quickly Because if users don’t understand your app in the first few minutes, they leave. This changed how I see development. It’s not just about React, Node.js, or Python. It’s about building useful systems for real people.
