As a hub for biotech and healthcare, a center for scientific innovation, and the 'birthplace of the American Revolution', the Boston metropolitan area has helped lead transformation across a number of industries for many more years than anyone's current lifetime. Spending a few days this week there speaking with newly introduced executives, as well having the opportunity to return to some of my more tenured relationships, revisiting organizations representing part of my old research 'stomping grounds', across a range of topics including our recently announced #AmazonBioDiscovery was energizing. Before returning home after presentations today, I stayed in Cambridge last night, in the shadows of the 'Georgia Tech of the North' (yeah, I'm looking at you, Massachusetts Institute of Technology 😁) campus. For me it's an incredible place to take a walk, gathering my thoughts amongst the spirit of some of the greats, realizing just how much innovation of the 20th century and beyond began or benefitted from a walk, a talk, a presentation in this city, perhaps along these very paths, regardless of how far flung its impact may ultimately have become. Maybe it's from having a background in technology, research and innovation, or maybe it's just because I'm a geek, (or from once having the opportunity to touch 3rd base dirt and the Green Monster at Fenway), there's always been an affinity for my times in Beantown. And just for this week, I'm pulling for the Bruins, and the Celtics and hoping the BoSox find their bats (don't get all testy on me NY and ATL friends 🤣). Great people doing incredibly beneficial things, giving Amazon Web Services (AWS) the opportunity to be a part of their transformation, acceleration, and innovation journey. Thank you for hosting my team this week. I look forward to continuing to contribute to the area's ongoing success, at scale.
Nice finally meeting you in person Todd C. Sharp, MSci!
“Georgia Tech of the North”! 😂 Love it! 🐝 💛
My old stomping grounds. Good memories.
I was lucky to grow up and be educated there
I was at Boston 2 weeks ago!
Fenway is the best ballpark. History, character, actual personality. Not whatever corporate, soulless experience the Bronx is trying to pass off as “iconic.”😇
