What started with CTFs is growing into education and what I think could be the game changer for any company that has software to demo. Ask these guys about the Snowflake and Wiz CTFs they put together to train teams and demo features. I wish I could give clients a free version of our software and let them discover it in a safe environment while having fun. This is the future of cybersecurity sales and marketing, IMHO. I don't say training and education, because they're already leading there.

This week, I’ve been intentionally slowing down to refocus on my cybersecurity foundation. I’m revisiting material from the Correlation One cybersecurity certification course along with Professor Messer’s training to refresh my understanding of core concepts like networking, security fundamentals, and system basics. Going back through this content has helped me strengthen areas that are essential for real world problem solving. As I continue working toward opportunities in cybersecurity, I want to make sure I’m not just learning but truly understanding and retaining the skills needed to add value from day one.

I'm gaining a deeper understanding of key concepts like IP addressing, network components, protocols and how data moves from a source to a destination. It's becoming clearer how these fundamentals play a critical role in securing systems and identifying vulnerabilities. Scoring 19/20 is exiting, but what matters even more is the learning process behind it - the practice, the mistakes, and the improvements along the way. That one missed question is a reminder that there's always more to learn and refine. I'm committed to growing my skills, staying consistent and building a strong path in cybersecurity.
