CEOs of legacy firms are navigating a strategic tightrope: transforming through AI whilst ensuring they don’t become the next cybersecurity headline, and modernising without destabilising what already works. The rise of AI is both an opportunity and a threat because boards expect rapid adoption to unlock efficiency, innovation, and competitiveness, yet most organisations struggle with outdated systems, fragmented data, and cultural resistance to change. Many CEOs find that moving from pilot AI projects to enterprise wide transformation is hindered by unclear strategy, lack of inhouse expertise, and uncertainty about regulation and ethics. At the same time, cybersecurity risks are escalating faster than their organisations can adapt. Legacy infrastructure, technical debt, and inconsistent governance leave critical operations exposed. Attack surfaces have expanded with hybrid working, cloud migration, and connected devices whilst cyber talent remains scarce and expensive. For many CEOs, cybersecurity has shifted from an IT concern to a board level risk demanding constant vigilance, investment, and cross functional accountability. The Emerging Technology Network helps leaders bridge that gap by connecting them with the right expertise to modernise safely and strategically. #AILeadership #CyberSecurity #DigitalTransformation #CEOPerspective #EmergingTechnology #TechLeaders

Industry Intel | Cyber Resilience in the Age of AI & Automation A few years ago, cybersecurity was about building walls. Today, it’s about building awareness, adaptability, and accountability. Across Africa, enterprises are realising that cyber resilience isn’t just a technical challenge, it’s an operational capability. When systems fail, the question isn’t “who was hacked?” but “how fast can we recover, respond, and learn?” Here’s what’s shifting: - Automation is expanding the threat surface. AI, bots, and APIs are transforming productivity, but they also multiply entry points and misconfigurations that humans can’t always see. - Regulators are catching up. Frameworks like POPIA, ISO 27001, and NIST are no longer tick-box exercises, they’re becoming the baseline for digital trust and business continuity. - Resilience now defines leadership. The boardroom is starting to ask not just about uptime, but about response time. In a crisis, recovery speed is reputation. The future of cybersecurity in Africa depends on one thing: Where security, compliance, and connectivity act as one ecosystem, learning, adapting, and protecting together. Differentiation for Sales Professionals In a world where automation and AI dominate headlines, the strongest sales professionals are the ones who bring human context back into the conversation. They: • Translate risk frameworks into business priorities. • Build trust through education, not urgency. • Help clients align security investments with operational goals, not just compliance checklists. In the end, technology detects threats. People build resilience. #IndustryIntel #CyberResilience #DigitalTrust #Cybersecurity #Africa #POPIA #Cloud #AI #Sales #Leadership #DigitalTransformation

⚠️ Cyber Risk Is Entering Its Next Phase — And It’s Unlike Anything We’ve Seen Before. According to the latest Rapid7 Threat Report, the global cybersecurity landscape is shifting faster than ever — driven by a powerful convergence of AI, quantum computing, and hybrid state-sponsored campaigns. 🌐💻 This isn’t just another tech headline — it’s a wake-up call for every organization, leader, and nation preparing for the next era of digital defense. Here’s what’s changing 👇 🔍 Key takeaways from the Rapid7 report: 🤖 AI-powered attacks are evolving — from autonomous malware to adaptive phishing that learns human behavior. ⚛️ Quantum computing is on the horizon — threatening to break traditional encryption and rewrite security as we know it. 🕵️♂️ Hybrid state-sponsored campaigns are blurring the line between cyber espionage, economic disruption, and information warfare. 🌍 Global impact: No region is immune — the ripple effects are reaching governments, enterprises, and individuals alike. 💬 In this new era, cyber resilience isn’t optional — it’s existential. AI and quantum technologies hold massive potential, but without strong governance, collaboration, and shared intelligence, they can easily become tools of exploitation. 🔥 The next phase of cybersecurity won’t be about firewalls — it will be about foresight. How prepared is your organization for a world where AI attacks faster than humans can react? Let’s discuss 👇 What’s your take — is global cybersecurity ready for the quantum-AI era? 🔗 Source: SecurityBrief Australia 🌍 #CyberSecurity #AI #QuantumComputing #CyberRisk #ThreatIntelligence #DigitalTransformation #Innovation #FutureOfWork #Leadership #RiskManagement #DataSecurity #Governance #Technology #Resilience #BusinessGrowth #CyberDefense #ArtificialIntelligence #Automation #CyberStrategy #Sustainability #DigitalTrust #Compliance #GlobalNetwork #ProfessionalGrowth #CareerDevelopment #Entrepreneurship #WorkCulture #Australia #USA #UK #India #Singapore #GlobalLeadership #TechInnovation #CyberAwareness

AI is transforming technology, and so are the risks that come with it Some AI threats could cause serious financial loss, while others may be minor annoyances. Without a clear way to measure and compare them, organizations risk wasting time on low-impact issues while leaving critical gaps unaddressed. For security leaders, the solution is to integrate AI-specific threats into your existing risk model. This makes them quantifiable and comparable, allowing institutions to calculate financial exposure, prioritize remediation, and allocate resources where they matter most. By evaluating AI risks alongside traditional cyber risks in a unified framework, teams can make data-driven decisions, act strategically instead of reactively, and ensure the highest-impact threats are tackled first—all while maintaining a complete view of the organization’s risk landscape.

It was an honor to represent Oman Data Park at the Kaspersky Roundtable on “AI-Driven Cybersecurity Threats and Fraud in the META Region” during GITEX Global 2025. The discussion brought together regional leaders from government, industry, and academia to address one of today’s most pressing challenges — the dual role of Artificial Intelligence as both a catalyst for innovation and a vector for sophisticated cyber threats. Key insights from the session included: • The surge in AI-powered attack automation, social engineering, and deepfake-driven fraud. • The need for adaptive, AI-driven defense models within SOCs, emphasizing predictive analytics and real-time response. • A growing focus on public–private collaboration to build collective intelligence and resilience. • The importance of investing in people and processes alongside technology — ensuring that talent, governance, and AI ethics evolve in tandem. • The call for dynamic regulatory frameworks that safeguard innovation while ensuring security, transparency, and accountability. From an operational perspective, I shared insights on the challenges of scaling AI in security operations, including data lake optimization, GPU utilization, and the need for structured SOC playbooks to translate AI insights into action. As the META region accelerates digital transformation, AI-driven cybersecurity must evolve from reactive defense to proactive resilience — empowering organizations to protect, adapt, and lead securely.
