“Do we really need another React framework?” 🤔 That was my first reaction when I heard about TanStack Start. React already has Next.js, React Router V7, and more. So the obvious question is: why build another one? But once I started exploring it, the reasoning became much clearer. TanStack Start is not trying to compete by adding more features. It’s trying to rethink how modern React apps handle things like: - ✅ Routing - ✅ Data loading - ✅ Server rendering - ✅ Developer experience(DX) If you’ve worked on large React applications, you’ve probably felt some of the friction around these areas. In my latest video, I break down: - ▶️ Why TanStack decided to build its own framework - ▶️ What problems is it trying to solve - ▶️ Where it fits in the evolving React ecosystem - ▶️ My first impressions while exploring it If you enjoy staying ahead of the curve in the React ecosystem, this is definitely worth a look. Mixed feelings on TanStack Query for my latest e-commerce build. On one hand, the 'from scratch' purist in me wants to handle my own fetch logic. On the other hand, seeing a complex cart and product cache just work without a massive state management headache is hard to argue with. It’s a lot of boilerplate to set up correctly, but once the hydration is dialed in, it’s a lifesaver.
