Hello everyone 👋 Welcome to Day 6 of my JavaScript journey 🚀 Today I moved beyond basic arrays and explored powerful array methods the tools that make JavaScript code cleaner and more professional. 🧠 Array Methods I practiced: 🔹 forEach() – Loop through items 🔹 map() – Transform data 🔹 filter() – Select items based on conditions 🔹 find() – Locate specific values 🔹 includes() & indexOf() – Search inside arrays 🔹 reduce() – Combine values into one result 💻 Mini Project Student Result Analyzer I built a program that: ✔ Accepts marks of multiple students as input ✔ Converts input into an array ✔ Calculates highest and lowest marks ✔ Finds average marks using reduce() ✔ Counts how many students passed This project helped me understand how array methods can solve real problems efficiently. 🎯 Day 6 Takeaway Instead of writing long loops, I can now use smart array methods to write shorter, cleaner, and more readable code. 📚 Back to the Core: Strengthening My JavaScript Foundations Lately, I’ve been dedicating focused time to revisiting the core concepts of JavaScript — not just skimming through tutorials, but truly understanding how things work under the hood. Instead of rushing toward frameworks, I decided to slow down and strengthen my fundamentals: ✅ Scope & Closures ✅ Hoisting ✅ Execution Context & Call Stack ✅ Prototypes & Inheritance ✅ Asynchronous JavaScript (Promises, Async/Await, Event Loop) ✅ “this” keyword behavior One thing that has made a huge difference? ✍️ Taking structured notes while studying 💻 Practicing side by side as I learn Writing notes forces clarity. Practicing immediately reinforces understanding. When theory meets implementation, concepts stick. I’ve realized that strong fundamentals make everything else easier — debugging, reading code, learning frameworks, and even system design. It’s tempting to jump straight into tools and libraries, but mastering the basics builds long-term confidence. What I learned: 🔹 User Input in Node.js * Using prompt-sync package to take user input outside the browser environment. * Importance of explicit type casting (Number(), parseInt()) to avoid common pitfalls with string inputs. 🔹 Switch Case Statements * How switch cases provide a modern, cleaner alternative to multiple if-else conditions when checking a single variable against multiple values. * The significance of break statements to prevent fall-through bugs. * Using default case as a safety net for unmatched conditions. * Advanced usage: fall-through pattern to group multiple cases with the same logic (e.g., months with 31 days). 🔹 Loops in JavaScript * For, While, and Do-While loops — syntax and use cases, very similar to Java but with JavaScript nuances. * Pattern printing using loops and string concatenation. * Leveraging JavaScript’s powerful String.repeat() method to simplify pattern generation. * Tips on printing patterns in the console (handling line breaks and concatenation). Why this matters: Mastering these concepts is crucial for writing efficient control flow in JavaScript, which is foundational for everything from simple scripts to complex web applications. 🚀 #Day 33 of MERN Stack Learning Challenge | #100DaysOfCode Today I learned and practiced JavaScript DOM Events — where JavaScript actually starts responding to user actions. 📌 Topics Covered: • DOM Events – How the browser reacts to user interactions • Mouse / Pointer Events – click, mouseover, mouseout • Event Listeners – addEventListener() for handling events properly • this in Event Listeners – Understanding what this refers to • Keyboard Events – keypress, keydown • Form Events – submit events and preventing default behavior • Extracting Form Data – Accessing user input dynamically • Scroll & Load Events – Responding when page loads or scrolls 📌 Practice Questions Completed: ✅ Tried different events like mouseout, keypress, scroll, load ✅ Created a button using JavaScript and changed its color on click ✅ Built an input field that only accepts letters (A–Z, a–z, space) ✅ Dynamically displayed the user’s name inside a heading 📝 Today’s learning made me realize — DOM Manipulation changes the UI, but Events make the UI interactive.
