“Data Analysts just build dashboards…” That’s the biggest myth. Real work looks like this :- 🔹 Understanding the problem 🔹 Cleaning messy data 🔹 Writing SQL 🔹 Finding insights 🔹 Communicating clearly 🔹 THEN building dashboards Truth is 80% of the work happens before visualization. #DataAnalytics #DataAnalyst #SQL #PowerBI #BusinessIntelligence #DataScience #Analytics #LearningJourney #CareerGrowth #DataVisualization #DAX #Dashboards
Debunking the myth: Data Analysts don't just build dashboards

Most people think Power BI is just about charts… But in reality, the real power is in DATA MODELING. I recently worked on a project where: Data was coming from multiple sources Reports were slow and inconsistent After redesigning the data model: Report performance improved KPIs became more reliable Decision-making became faster Lesson: If your data model is weak, your insights will be wrong. Now I focus more on building strong data models before jumping into visuals. #PowerBI #DataAnalytics #BusinessIntelligence #SQL #DataModeling

A mistake many beginners make in Data Analytics: Jumping straight into dashboards. Charts look exciting. Dashboards feel productive. But without proper analysis, dashboards can be misleading. Before visualization, the real steps are: • Understanding the business problem • Cleaning the data • Exploring patterns • Asking the right questions Visualization should be the final step, not the first. Good insights come before good charts. #dataanalytics #datavisualization #powerbi #sql #analytics

Everyone wants to build dashboards. But not everyone wants to climb the stairs to get there. Excel → SQL → Data Cleaning → EDA → Statistics → Business Understanding → Visualization These aren’t optional steps—they’re the foundation. Skipping them might get you quick results, but mastering them will get you real impact. I’m choosing to climb, not jump. 🚀 #DataAnalytics #LearningJourney #SQL #EDA #DataVisualization #CareerGrowth #Upskill

Most dashboards fail for one simple reason… They show data, but not decisions. In my experience working with SQL, ETL pipelines, and Power BI dashboards, I’ve seen this happen a lot - reports packed with numbers, but no clear direction for stakeholders. Here’s what actually makes a dashboard useful: • Focus on 3–5 key metrics instead of everything • Add context (trends, comparisons, benchmarks) • Design for business users, not just analysts • Keep it simple - clarity always wins over complexity A well-built dashboard should answer: “What should I do next?” - not just “What happened?” Curious! what’s one thing you think most dashboards are missing? #DataAnalytics #PowerBI #SQL #DashboardDesign #DataStorytelling #BusinessIntelligence

The hardest part of data analysis isn’t SQL. It isn’t dashboards. It isn’t even the data. It’s defining the problem correctly. Because if the question is wrong, everything else is useless. You can have clean data. You can have perfect queries. You can build beautiful dashboards. But if you’re solving the wrong problem… you’re just creating noise. That’s why I spend more time understanding the business context than writing queries. Because clarity > complexity. #DataAnalytics #DataAnalyst #BusinessIntelligence #DataThinking #Analytics Photo by Alesia Kazantceva on Unsplash

Most beginners think dashboards fail because of bad visuals. The real problem is often bad data modeling. Day 29/90 – What is Data Modeling What I learned: Data modeling is the process of organizing tables and defining relationships so data works efficiently for analysis. How to use this: 1. Separate data into logical tables 2. Identify common keys 3. Create relationships 4. Optimize structure for reporting Key takeaways: 1. Better models create better dashboards 2. Structure impacts performance 3. Modeling is the foundation of analysis Example: In my Blinkit project, separating customers, orders, and products improves dashboard accuracy. Great dashboards are built on strong foundations. #PowerBI #DataModeling #DataAnalytics #BusinessIntelligence #Analytics

Most data analysis stops at showing what’s happening. But that’s not where the value is. The value is in deciding what to do next. While working on a dataset using SQL and Power BI, I could clearly see where delays were happening. But that raised a bigger question: If I had to act on this, where should I start? Because not every issue needs attention. And not every insight creates impact. So instead of just building dashboards, I started focusing on: → Which problem affects the system the most → Where a small change could improve overall performance → What decision this analysis is actually supporting That completely changed how I approach analytics. It’s no longer just: “What does the data show?” It’s: “What action should this lead to?” Because clean dashboards don’t create value. Clear decisions do. Still refining this approach, but it’s already making my analysis more focused and useful. Curious - when you’re working with data, do you prioritize insights or actions? #DataAnalytics #SQL #PowerBI #DecisionMaking #BusinessAnalytics

I improved my data analysis workflow today… and it saved me hours. Here’s what I changed 👇 1️⃣ Clean your data first (always) 2️⃣ Ask 1 clear question before analysis 3️⃣ Focus on insights, not just charts Simple… but powerful. Most beginners jump straight into dashboards— But without clean data and clear questions, insights mean nothing. Tools I used: Excel + SQL #DataAnalytics #DataAnalyst #SQL #Excel #PowerBI #DataScience #LearningJourney #DataDriven #TigerAnalytics #Jobs #DataCareers #Analytics #mps #post

💡 5 Power BI concepts every beginner should know: 1. Data Loading → Get Data 2. Power Query → Clean data 3. Data Modeling → Relationships 4. DAX → Calculations 5. Visualization → Insights If you understand these 5, you can build real dashboards. I’ve summarized all of this in a single-page cheat sheet 👇 Makes revision super easy. #PowerBI #DataScience #Analytics
