Platform Engineering: Solving DevOps for Backend Teams

DevOps does not work well when one person has to do everything for every team. Platform Engineering is the way to solve this problem. I just wrote an explanation of what Platform Engineering really is. It is for people who work on the backend and do DevOps. They keep hearing the term and are not sure what it means or how it is different from what they already do. Here is what I covered: - How to change from doing DevOps to building a platform that other people can use on their own - Explained what golden paths, IDPs and paved roads are - Talked about the main tools: Backstage, Crossplane, ArgoCD, Terraform, OpenTelemetry - About the problem that product engineers have when they need to deal with infrastructure - Gave tips on how to start small even if you do not have a team just for Platform Engineering If you are the person who always gets messages from people who need help with Kubernetes even at midnight then this is, for you. 👇 You can read the post here: https://lnkd.in/gskVtj8w #PlatformEngineering #DevOps #Kubernetes #DeveloperExperience #SRE #InfrastructureAsCode
