Day 7: Leveling up with NumPy! Today’s session at UNLOX® Academy with my mentor Girish Kumar took a deep dive into Numerical Python (NumPy), and it's easy to see why it’s the backbone of data science. We moved beyond basic lists to explore high-performance arrays and data manipulation. What I mastered today: np.arange: Efficiently generating numerical sequences with specific start, stop, and step values. np.reshape: The "magic" of changing data dimensions without altering the data itself. Turning a 1D sequence into a 2D matrix (rows x columns) is a game-changer for organizing datasets. Array Logic: Understanding how multi-dimensional structures power everything from simple tables to complex neural networks. The ability to reshape data instantly makes cleaning and preparing datasets so much faster. Looking forward to putting these tools to work on our next project! 💻📊 #DataScience #NumPy #PythonProgramming #DataAnalytics #UnloxAcademy #TechSkills #BigData #CodingJourney

🚀 Understanding Naive Bayes in Action Ever wondered how probabilistic models work? Naive Bayes is a classic generative model that shows the power of reasoning under uncertainty. 🔹 It uses Bayes’ theorem 🔹 Assumes feature independence 🔹 Works surprisingly well even with small datasets 💡Fun fact: It’s often taught using spam classification as an example — not because NB is the cutting-edge choice today, but because it’s perfect for learning core concepts. In my latest Jupyter notebook, I walk through: - Full mathematical derivation - Manual probability calculations with a tiny table - Log probabilities to avoid underflow - Gaussian, Multinomial, and Bernoulli NB variants - Decision boundary visualization - Comparison with Logistic Regression Whether you’re brushing up on ML fundamentals or teaching someone new, NB is a great way to visualize how probability can drive predictions. This week in our Machine Learning lab, we explored Principal Component Analysis (PCA), one of the most powerful dimensionality reduction techniques in data science. We learned how PCA helps in: • Reducing high-dimensional data into fewer components • Preserving maximum variance in the dataset • Improving visualization and computational efficiency • Removing multicollinearity between features In the lab, we: Standardized the dataset Computed covariance matrices Understood eigenvalues & eigenvectors Transformed features into principal components using Python It was interesting to see how complex datasets can be simplified while still retaining the most important information. Understanding PCA gave us deeper insight into how preprocessing impacts model performance and why scaling plays a crucial role before applying the algorithm. Excited to apply dimensionality reduction techniques in future ML projects 🚀 #MachineLearning #PCA #DataScience #ArtificialIntelligence #Python #StudentLife #LearningJourney

I built a Multilayer Perceptron from scratch. No frameworks. No shortcuts. 🧠 Most people use PyTorch or TensorFlow and never look inside the black box. I decided to build the black box itself. What's under the hood: → Manual backpropagation with gradient descent → Configurable architecture: inputs, hidden layers, neurons per layer, outputs → Binary & multi-class classification with One-Hot Encoding → Model persistence — save and reload trained networks via CSV → Real-time visualizations: data scatter, predictions, confusion matrix → Continuous training — train, pause, and resume the same model anytime The biggest takeaway? Building this from the ground up gave me a level of understanding that no tutorial ever could . Understanding backpropagation mathematically changes how you think about every ML model you'll ever use. Entering the World of Numerical Python: Day 46/100 📊🚀 To master AI, you must first master the Matrix. 🏗️ For Day 46, I’ve officially started my journey with NumPy—the backbone of Data Science and Machine Learning. Today, I moved beyond standard Python lists to explore N-Dimensional Arrays (ndarrays). Technical Highlights: 🏗️ Vectorized Operations: Learning how NumPy performs calculations across entire datasets without slow 'for' loops (Broadcasting). 🖼️ Image Logic: Visualizing how digital images are represented as matrices of pixel values. 📈 Statistical Analysis: Utilizing NumPy’s built-in functions to instantly calculate Mean, Max, and Sum of complex arrays. The Shift: Standard Python lists are for general tasks, but NumPy is for Performance. In the AI/ML world, speed is everything. By learning how to manipulate data at the hardware level with NumPy, I'm building the skills needed to handle massive datasets and complex neural networks.
