🚀 Day 12 of My Web Development Journey Today I learned about DOM Manipulation in JavaScript. What DOM means DOM stands for Document Object Model. It is the structure of a web page that JavaScript can access and change. In simple words, the DOM allows JavaScript to interact with HTML and update content on the page. Changing text and color using JavaScript One of the most exciting things I learned is that JavaScript can change text, colors, and other page elements dynamically. Here’s a small example: document.getElementById("demo").textContent = "Hello, DOM!"; document.getElementById("demo").style.color = "blue"; Small interactive demo I also tried a simple interactive demo where clicking a button changes the text and color of an element on the page. It felt amazing to see the webpage respond instantly with JavaScript. This is the point where web pages start becoming interactive, not just static. Small but powerful knowledge A few days ago, I learned the `getBoundingClientRect()` method in JavaScript, which really intrigued me. At the time, I didn’t fully comprehend what this function does; however, after some testing, I understood its importance when developing web applications that require UI positioning. Here is an example I have tested: ```js const tab = document.querySelector('.tab'); const rect = tab.getBoundingClientRect(); console.log(rect); ``` It will return: * `width` * `height` * `top` * `left` It is basically giving the information about **the position on the screen and dimensions of the HTML element**.
