Most people solve LeetCode problems the wrong way. I did too. I used to: → Jump into coding immediately → Get stuck → Check solution after 10–15 mins And repeat. Result? No real improvement. Then I changed my approach. Now every problem I solve follows this: 1️⃣ Understand the problem (don’t rush) → Read it twice → Identify inputs, outputs, constraints 2️⃣ Think before coding → Start with brute force → Break problem into smaller parts 3️⃣ Focus on patterns, not problems → Two pointers → Sliding window → DP, graphs, etc. 4️⃣ Dry run with examples → Test edge cases → See where it breaks 5️⃣ Then code → First correct → Then optimize 💡 Biggest mistake people make: They treat LeetCode like a quiz. But after years of leading AI-first transitions, I’ve realized that solving a binary tree problem means nothing if you can’t manage a stakeholder’s expectations. Last week, on a client project using Next.js and FastAPI, we hit a massive blocker with a third-party LLM integration. The Junior dev on my team wanted to rewrite the entire architecture. My Senior dev, however, spent an hour on a call with the client explaining the trade-offs and mapped out a compromise that kept us on track.
