Using var instead of let or const var is function-scoped and can cause weird bugs due to hoisting. ✅ Use let for variables that change and const for ones that don’t. 2. Forgetting to handle async properly Mixing promises, callbacks, and async/await can lead to race conditions or unhandled rejections. ✅ Always await async functions or chain with .then(), and wrap in try/catch. 3. Comparing values incorrectly == does type coercion (and sometimes weirdly!). ✅ Stick to === for strict comparison. 4. Misunderstanding this Arrow functions don’t have their own this — they inherit from the parent scope. ✅ Know when to use arrow functions vs regular ones. 5. Today I explored how JavaScript executes inside the browser, and it was truly fascinating to understand the step-by-step process behind the scenes! 💡 Here’s what I learned 👇 🔹 The browser starts by loading the HTML and identifying any <script> tags. 🔹 Once found, the code is sent to the JavaScript Engine (like Chrome’s V8). 🔹 The engine performs three key steps — ✨ Parsing: Reads and converts code into an Abstract Syntax Tree (AST). ⚙️ Compilation (JIT): Translates JS into optimized machine code for faster execution. 🧩 Execution: Runs the code in the Call Stack, while variables and objects are managed in the Memory Heap. 🔹 For asynchronous operations (set Timeout, fetch, etc.), the Web APIs, Callback Queue, and Event Loop coordinate to ensure non-blocking execution. 💬 In short: HTML Parsing → JS Engine → Call Stack → Web APIs → Callback Queue → Event Loop → Execution Understanding this flow helps in writing efficient, optimized, and clean JavaScript code. Here are 5 things I wish someone had told me earlier: *1. var is dangerous. Use "let" and "const" "var" is function-scoped and can lead to unexpected bugs. "let" and "const" are block-scoped and safer. *2. JavaScript is asynchronous Things like "setTimeout()"and "fetch()" don’t behave in a straight top-down flow. Understanding the *event loop* helps a lot. *3. Functions are first-class citizens* – You can pass functions as arguments, return them, and even store them in variables. It’s powerful once you get used to it. *4. The DOM is slow – avoid unnecessary access* – Repeated DOM queries and manipulations can hurt performance. Use "documentFragment" or batch changes when possible. *5. Don’t ignore array methods* map(), "filter()" , "reduce()", "find()"… they make code cleaner and more readable. I wish I started using them sooner. 💡 *Bonus Tip:* "console.log()" is your best friend during debugging! If you’re starting out with JS, save this. But there’s a simple way to think about it: this is like saying “I”. When someone says “I am hungry”, the meaning depends on who is speaking — not the sentence itself. But here’s what’s really happening 👇 🧠 Explanation: If you don’t declare a variable using let, const, or var, JavaScript (in non-strict mode) automatically creates it as a global variable named i.
