Well, as is typical with R&D, Ceph did not pan out so pivoting again.  All Samba ACLs and reclocking will be moved off filesystems and into DynamoDB. With DynamoDB as authoritative L3 ACL persistence layer, coupled with L1/RAM and L2/Redis distributed caches, this may be the highest performance Samba metadata architecture ever built. Eliminates filesystem bottlenecks and ensures L1-L3 cache coherence via generation invalidation.  Expecting PB scale performance of SMB atop EFS with this final architecture update.
